Day 39

How cute is this baby??
This was a good day... I got to see Lisa for lunch and it was so great to catch up with her. I could have talked with her for hours, but she had to leave.

Tonight I had my first Scentsy party... not a complete flop, but not the perfect scenereo. Wendy is going to have it at her house and invite more people, so maybe that'll make it better. We'll see. I love the stuff but no one wants to buy from me! I am determined to get a party and then start the ball rolling.

I took some great pictures of Gus today:
This morning...

Nap time...

Wendy and I chatted tonight on the way home from Olive Garden (Girls' Night Out) about our FROG (Finished Room Over the Garage) and she wants to organize/clean it while we're in Michigan. I can't even imagine having that room be open and free of my teaching stuff. We'll see... Wendy was excited about the challenge, and I'd love for her to be able to work her magic... she loves to organize and clean!!

Okay... more tomorrow!

Day 38

This boy has my heart. He just lights up my entire world and makes me smile unlike anything else. I'm probably a typical mom, but everything he does makes me laugh so much. He makes the cutest faces, noises, expressions, and does the funniest things. I can't even imagine my life without him in it.

My baby slept until about 7:15 this morning and then he was up and ready to play. Mom wasn't quite so ready. Stayed up too late watching the Packers win I suppose. It was a great game and had me in suspense up to the end. I said to Steve, "Why is it that every team that I want to win, when they play the damn Steelers... get all the way to the end and then they blow it?!?" Thankfully the Packers were able to maintain their lead and win the 45th Super Bowl.

I had wanted to go to the Toddler Story Time at the library this morning, but Gus woke up earlier than expected and then I figured he'd be ready for a nap just as it was getting started. I decided to hold off until next Monday.

Before getting ready to head out this morning, I took some pictures of Gus in his sweater that his God Mother Jessica sent him in October. I think he looked super cute today.

Wendy and Ashley came over for a bit and then we headed to Wendy's for lunch. Wendy had a lunch date with a friend of Kaitlyn's and her mom. I decided to be a jerk and crash their date. :)  Really, she said it was okay and I decided to go and check out this lady.

We got back from lunch and it was nap time. Gus slept from 2:15-3:15 and then he woke up for a bottle, and went back to sleep until 5:15. He went to bed tonight at 8:00 because Steve worked late and we were waiting up for him. Hopefully he'll sleep through the night and give me a full 12 hours!!

So this evening while we were waiting for Steve to get home, Gus was playing and I decided to give him a plastic bag (it was a ziploc one and sealed... and not a danger to him). I was amazed at how much he loved it and that it went all over the livingroom with him and entertained him for a good 45 minutes!!

Then Gus spotted Purry Como and it was on! He loves that cat and LOVES to try and eat his face. Not kidding.
This cat is the most patient cat on the planet

You thought I was kidding didn't you?

Trying to get a grip on Purry's face... and the cat just allowed him to grab him...

Yes, even sticking his fingers in Purry's mouth and the cat just tolerates it!

Steve got home and brought us some swag, which is good because our supply is at 1% and now we're back to about 30% or so. It's mostly for gifts and whatnot, but when you're down to just about nothing, it's pretty stinky. We need to be more selective about the amount of freebies that we give away. No more shopping in the store for just anyone!

I'm now ready for bed. Tomorrow Lisa Singletary from Oak Grove is coming for lunch and to see Gus! I can't wait to see her and catch up... it's been forever. It's nice to see former co-workers and know that some of them still think about me. It was hard to leave OG and feel like I wasn't really missed.
The boy who is worth everything!

Anyway... see you tomorrow!

Day 37

This morning started off with Gus sleeping until 8:30 and it was absolutely amazing! Steve and I both woke up on our own and not to the cries of a baby. It's the little things that you miss once you have kids!

It's laundry day, so we have laundry baskets filled with clean and dirty clothes and Gus decided to help daddy with folding some clean clothes. It was too cute not to take a picture!

The rest of the day was spent with me making breakfast for us, and then we watched SNL from last night. It was GREAT! I love when they have a good show and Dana Carvey was the host and did a great job.

I took pictures of Gus throughout the day and of course one with him in my Packers jersey... he had to show his love for the Packers for tonight. The game is on right now and the Packers are winning... The Blackeyed Peas did the halftime show and they were horrible!!! I can't stand Fergie and find her to be very over-rated.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures and I'll be back tomorrow!

See you tomorrow!

Week 6: My Nephew Eamon

This week I decided to send a letter to my nephew Eamon. He's almost nine-years-old (**CORRECTION... HE IS ALMOST EIGHT!!!!!) and such a funny boy. He lives in Arizona and I'm lucky if I get to see him once a year. This past year (2010) I got to see him in Michigan while there for Gus and then had the double fortune of having him come to NC to visit for almost a week!

Eamon is so special to me. He's my first nephew and I can remember exactly where I was when my oldest brother called me to tell me that he was going to be a daddy. I was in Aimee and Amy's livingroom and was soooo excited!!  I was in the process of going through my divorce and I can vividly remember talking to my ex and telling him about the baby and thinking, "You'll never get to know this wonderful little baby." It made me a little sad, but I hoped that there'd be an Uncle so-and-so someday, to go with Aunt Cathy.  :)

When Eamon was born (end of April), I was on a cruise with Amy and Krissy and we had just arrived in Key West, FL and were downtown shopping. I was just over-the-top ecstatic when I found out that E was born.

When I looked at the pictures of him, I cried. I remember being so proud of my brother and so happy for him and his wife H. They made the most perfect little baby. The first time I saw E in person I couldn't believe how teeny-tiny he was. I can remember thinking, "Okay... he's cool but what does he do?" I was certain that I was not ready to be a parent yet.

I can't believe he's almost eight. Crazy how time flies! He is such a smart kid, and so clever. He is as individual as children come and he's so comfortable in his own skin. I'm so proud of the boy that he is and certain that he'll be one heck of a young man.

My brother and SIL have done an outstanding job of raising him, and I always love to see the pictures of him and his sister Aine, and his little brother Benton on my SIL's blog. My nephews and nieces really do light up my life.

This July, Eamon got to meet Gus and I have the cutest picture of him holding Gus.
In this picture, Gus was one day shy of being two-months-old.

The paper that I used for Eamon's letter is very special. It's Gumby "fold and mail" stationery. I only use it for special occasions, and I just thought it was perfect for his letter. I included a picture of me and Gus for him to have as well. I hope he likes it!

Maybe he'll write me back and we can write back and forth throughout the year!

Photo Challenge: Hearts

Photo Challenge: Hearts

This week the theme for the photo challenge is hearts. You can incorporate hearts however you'd like, and I decided to play around on Picnik and add some hearts to Gus's cute face. I think it's a cute picture.

Hop on over to iheartfaces to see other great pictures using the theme of hearts!
