Song: "Gonna Get There"- Dierks Bentley
Mood: Apprehensive

Well... Aimee had her baby!! Tuesday at 5:07, Lucas Michael Kuhn entered the world via c-section. Aimee didn't get to hold him right away, but she did get some time with him after they put her back together. She only had about an hour and a half with him, but it's better than nothing right? They ended up taking him to another hospital because he was breathing to quickly. It was excruciating for her to watch them take her baby... but she's out of the hospital today and over with him today.

I went to the dentist on Monday for my cleaning. They asked if I could come back again this week to get some cavities taken care of. I went in yesterday (Wednesday) at 3:00 and they filled three cavities. They took pictures of my teeth before and then after they filled them and it was incredible. I am going back today (yuck) at 12:50 for more fillings. Steve bought us a new toothbrush on Monday after my appointment. We're using a Sonicare with a timer and a bunch of other cool features. I've been using that and his Waterpic each time I brush. Hopefully when I go back in June they'll see a HUGE difference in my teeth and gums.

This has been a pretty nice break. I'm looking forward to going back to work though. The weather is crappy so it's not like I can go out and do anything fun. I'm kinda stuck here at home, and been on the computer or watching movies. I'm not complaining, but I'm more excited for Spring Break.

I went to Steve's work yesterday and we went and had lunch together. We went and got Thai (sooooo good) and then came back and I hung out with him for a little bit. We bought a bunch of baby stuff from the lady at the credit union at FM, so I picked it up and brought it home. We got three car seats, a crib, a matress, a stroller and then Classic Winnie the Pooh bedding, and other room decor. It was an amazing deal and we thought we'd be stupid to pass it up. We're not pregnant or anything yet, but we've got the stuff so when it does happen, we're somewhat ready. It was like $260 for all of it and just an outstaning deal.

March is such a great month. We have so many birthdays and anniversaries in March!! On the 4th my brother Dave turns 36 and then Monday the 5th is my parents 32nd Anniversary. Tuesday the 6th is the 3 year mark that Steve and I have been together. Thursday the 8th is my sister-in-law Heather's birthday and she'll be 35. Then we go to the 19th and that's my Aunt Margie's birthday and then the 20th is my Dad's 60th birthday!!

I'm getting hungry so I'm going to go eat and get ready for the dentist appointment. I don't have to go back until April 5th.

Music: "Someday" by Glass Tiger
Mood: Nervous and apprehensive

Well I am officially on Mid-Winter break as of tomorrow. You'd think I'd be happy right now because I get to sleep in tomorrow... but no, I don't actually get to sleep in. I have a 9am dentist appointment. I know that there are some things that we (as adults) just have to do, but I absolutely HATE HATE HATE going to the dentist. I get this sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and it doesn't go away until I'm walking out of there after my appointment. I'm not sure exactly why I hate it so much, but I do and I have to go tomorrow and I'm very unhappy about it. So unhappy in fact, my entire day today has been awful because all I have done is think about my appointment and freak out about it.

Anyway... last night we had our February Junior Circle event at Lucky's in Novi. The turn out was incredible. We had 14 people come to the event, which is the biggest that we've EVER had!! We got to Lucky's at 6:15 and waited until 7:15 for a table to open. They don't take reservations and it's first come, first served (which sucks when you've got a big group). We ended up going to Hooters for dinner and coming back to Lucky's for games after. Hooters was an experience. It had an odd smell when we first walked in... and it was rather comical to see the girls in their get-ups. The food... left a lot to be desired. I had crab legs which were good, but took me more than an hour to eat.

We had fun at Lucky's and only spent $20 doing so. We had free Coke because Steve said he was the DD and they give the DD free soda. We went to the toy counter and cashed in our 658 tickets and we got some candy, a keychain, a high-bounce ball and some other junk. All in all it was a great time.

Aimee could go into labor at any given moment. I'm super excited and hope it's sometime this week!! She wants to get through Tuesday (she's got her long-term sub coming in) and then she said she could have him. I hope it's soon!!

Until next time...

Music: Guys night on American Idol playing downstairs
Mood: Tired and ready for break

It's been a while since I last wrote. Sometimes I honestly forget to post things on here and then it ends up being weeks overdue and I leave out great details!!

The last time I wrote we were going to Pam's birthday shin-dig and it wasn't Valentine's Day yet. Well... the party was fun. We ended up staying until about midnight or so (which is pretty late for us). We only knew Pam and her husband Tim (none of the other people that we know were there). Neither Steve nor myself sang any music... last time we sang together and a few others, but we weren't feeling in the mood to sing I suppose.

I had Target Achievement and EC on Sunday and it was an all-day kind of thing, so I wasn't able to spend much time with Steve on Sunday the 11th.

I had a snow day on Wednesday the 14th (Valentine's Day). Michelle called me to see if I wanted to join her and Jenn (her roommate) for lunch and Sidetracks and then go to the teacher's store with her after. So we met and chatted and ended up pissing away the afternoon at Sidetracks. We didn't go to the teacher's store because she doesn't know what grade she'll be teaching next year and until she finds out, it's stupid to go and buy anything.

It's been awesome having her in my classroom. I wasn't too sure how it was going to be at first, because she's an AGD and I thought it'd be weird. However, I think she's an amazing person and I love having the whole day to hang with her and watch her grow and learn. She's so open to learning new things and she's been taking all the suggestions that I give her and applying them and really making HUGE improvements. She's 100% comfortable teaching and I feel 100% comfortable with her taking over. She's got great classroom management and the kids respond very positively to her direction (which is awesome).

Steve and I went to Ikea on Friday and got the wardrobe that I'd been drooling over... it was on sale for their Presidents Day sale. More than $100 off the original price!! So Steve spent Saturday putting it together while mom and I went and saw Because I Said So. It was the cutest movie!!! I'm totally going to have to buy it when it comes out!!

Sunday we went to Aimee and Matt's baby shower. She made the grand announcement that they're having a boy and they've known since OCTOBER!!!! Can you believe that??? I couldn't!! I was in total shock! BUT--- very happy to know that they're having a boy!! YAY for Lucas Michael!!!

Tomorrow will be the two-year anniversary since Grandma Ghrist died. I am still very sad about it and miss her (and Grandma Burney) so very very much. :( I don't want to think about it too much because it makes me start crying.

Saturday we've got another Junior Circle event planned (Luckys in Novi) and it should be fun. So far there are like ten people or so going. I think it'll be fun. I'll let you know after Saturday!!

Music: "Say It Right"- Nelly Fertado
Mood: Tired

This isn't going to be a long post because I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. So it's going to be short and sweet and you're just going to have to deal with it (lol).

Sunday was the Superbowl... and the Colts won (yay!). I was glad because they had gone before but never won and I think every team deserves to win right?

Monday was the best day ever because it was a snow day!! It wasn't called because of snow, it was called because of the extremely cold temperatures. I was happy and loved it! I didn't really do anything on Monday... just kinda hung out and got some small things done, but nothing significant or really important.

Monday night was fantastic because Kylie called to tell me that there was no school for Tuesday! YAY!! I was able to sleep in and relax for another day!! I drove out to Southfield to have lunch with Steve. We went to Mr. Joe's and had burgers, fried pickles (YUMMM) and deep fried mac-n-cheese (Steve loved it). I went home and then I met Michelle and Diana at Briarwood to see Unaccompanied Minors. Not a good idea to see a movie on a day when every kid in Washtenaw county was off school!! Plus it was a kid movie and only $0.50 so it was cheap!! Anyway-- it was cute.

I went to the post office and mailed the first two care packages for the soldiers from soldiers angels.com.

I was hoping that there'd be no school again on Wednesday, but I was disappointed when I had no call to tell me to sleep in. I went to work Wednesday not knowing how much would change in just a few short hours!

At lunch I walked into the office and someone said that there were two kittens found abandoned and they were in the electrical room. I asked if I could see them (just because I love kittens). I walked in and saw the first cat and he came right to me and I picked him up and he started to cuddle with me. As I was holding him, the secretary told me that Wednesday morning, one of the teachers had seen him outside and he was frozen to the sidewalk. She called the custodian to come remove the body before the kids arrived. It turned out that he wasn't dead... just frozen.

Anyway-- long story short, I took the kitten (he's about six months or so). We named him Toebe because he's a polydactyl cat (has additional toes and looks like thumbs). He's a mini-Eddie. Looks just like Eddie but much much smaller.

That's the excitement for the week. We had a compliment party today and it was a great day. No other big news... we're going to Main Dish tomorrow. We're meeting Matt and Aimee at Panera for lunch before going to Dish and then sometime tomorrow night we're going out for Pam's birthday bash... bad karaoke and drunks... what a superb mix!!

Mood: Tired

Music: "Faithfully" by Journey

So it's been like three weeks or so since I last posted. I've meant to come up here and actually write something, but I feel like these last few weeks I've been running at full-speed and have had no time to stop and breathe. It's like I get home so late, eat dinner, watch some television to relax and then it's time to get ready for bed. I can't really complain, it's been nice not to be bound to my computer and I've actually been able to go to bed several nights in a row without checking e-mail, myspace and facebook.

Steve turned 32 last Monday. We celebrated by going to Steak & Ale for dinner. It was just the two of us with mom and dad, but it was a nice evening.

Last Sunday we went to the Hard Rock Cafe Detroit for lunch and then went ice skating at Campus Martius. I had so much fun. I had not been ice skating in more than 22 years!! We went for the Junior Circle event and there was one person that came (her name is Angie). We skated for a few hours and then we headed home.

It's Superbowl Sunday today and we have spent the entire day inside. It's like -2 outside so we are staying inside. Yesterday I met Jenny at Jungle Java and had lunch with her while her kids played and then I went to Westland Mall and got Steve's Valentine's Day present and then I got myself some perfume (Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana). I also went to the teacher's store and bought some teacher stuff. :)

I'm really hoping that there's a snowday tomorrow due to the wind-chill. It's supposed to be like -20 or something insane like that. I was just telling Steve that this is the coldest winter that I can remember in the longest time. Take me somewhere warm!!

We just ordered Pizza Hut online so it'll be here in about 45 minutes (before the game starts). Steve made Mac-n-Cheese from scratch today and it was very good! It's going to be his signature dish for holiday/party events. :)

That's about all the latest and greatest from me. I did get my hair colored and cut (finally). I had a bit of a problem last week with my hair appointment-- I actually walked out because I got there at 4:30 and it was like 5:15 and she still wasn't ready for me when this guy walked in and she started doing his hair. I was so pissed I just got up and left. She called and made all these appologies and said I'd get a free cut and some free waxings... so I went back to her.

Yesterday was my niece's birthday. She's now two!! We sent her a card with some stickers and then I drew a picture of a monkey with a birthday hat for her. I thought it was cute!

Enough for now... GO COLTS!!!
