Happy Feet: Week 3

The difference between the first two weeks and this past week were remarkable! Maybe it's because we didn't bring a chair for Gus, therefore he didn't think he could sit out and not participate? I don't know... could be that both coaches this week were men? Whatever the reason, this past week was amazing.

Gus had so much fun participating in "Crazy Socks Day" and was one of the only kids wearing wacky socks. The coaches all liked his socks, and he picked out which ones he wanted to wear. His team played the Green Dragons and even though no one kept score, Gus's team totally won.

Here are some pictures and a few videos from this past week!

Stood out on the field (without Daddy) and followed directions!!

 Hopping like a bunny

Hugh really enjoyed watching Gus

Actually playing in the game and taking the lead with the ball!!

We are so proud of Gus and really had fun watching him play soccer! He had a great time too and it was wonderful!!

Happy Feet Soccer

We decided to sign Gus up for outdoor spring soccer back in February. My friend Kathryn's daughter, Aubree, did Happy Feet last spring and she had a great time. I loved the pictures that Kathryn posted last year, and I loved that the kids actually got to play a game and put their skills to work.

Gus's team is the Navy Blue Bears. He got his uniform last Saturday and he was super excited for soccer. It was COLD (30s) and he was happy to warm up for a bit, but wanted to come back and sit with us. He had a good morning, but we weren't sure what the deal was with him not playing in the actual game.

This week was week 2. We thought he was ready for his game... he practiced and played well with the coaches, but as soon as the other kids got there and started to play too, he didn't want anything to do with them. We are still unsure what the deal is... but he DID finally go out and play and it was at the very end... maybe next week he'll be more into it? Maybe he doesn't like team sports? Maybe he's too young still? Who knows.

Here's to hoping that next week is much better for Gus!!
