Hugh Loves His Daddy
Let me start by saying that Gus is feeling better than he was this past week. He came home from swimming on Monday and seemed "off." He took a really long nap (four hours) and woke up super hot (fever). We gave him meds and his fever came down.
Tuesday morning he woke up fine, so we went to see a movie. It was the first time either boy had been to the movies and it was a great success! We went to see Clifford.
Gus wasn't sure what to think at first, but he calmed down and really enjoyed himself!
Hugh enjoyed the movie too!
He fell asleep with 20 minutes left of the movie
We came home from the movies and Gus took a nap... and it was another four hour nap. Again, when he woke up he was super hot. The fever came down with Tylenol so we didn't think anything of it.
On Wednesday, he woke up feeling horrible. He had another fever, so I didn't take him to swimming and we stayed home from going to our lunch date. By the time Steve got home from work, I felt like we needed to do something. So we called and got him into our pediatrician's office.
Turns out, he had an ear infection. So they gave him a prescription for Amoxicillin and sent him on his way.
Thursday was his first day of really taking the meds and he was looking as if he was feeling a little better. I did Tylenol/Motrin off and on all day.
Friday morning, Gus woke up covered in these spots. I had no idea what they were, but there were on his back, neck, and chest. I called Steve and he said to immediately call our pediatrician and take him in. So at 11:40 we went.
The bumps
They spread to his arms, legs, feet, hands, and his face and ears!!
It was decided that he most likely was having an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin. She gave us a new prescription and said he should start to feel better in a few days, but that he still had an ear infection.
He spent the rest of Friday being snuggled.
Saturday morning, we woke up and went to soccer. Gus was out of it and wasn't listening like he usually does. He also decided a few times, that he was done. His coaches earned their money on Saturday.
Running around before practice

Having a conversation with Coach Connor
He did a great job with this
Mid-jump!
Jumping again!
Great job running
Getting a high-five from Daddy
More running
Running backward (not as easy as you'd think)
Lots of attention from Coach Connor
And he's done
Coach Connor had to come and get him
The equivalent of picking daisies in the outfield...
Making a telescope out of his circle that he's supposed to sit on
After soccer, we went to Costco and got some things and then we headed home. I had a nail appointment and then after, we went to Bonefish Grill for dinner. We each had the scallops... yummmmm.
This morning, we got up and went to church and then stopped at Kroger on the way home for some random items.
Gus and I grocery shopping
Hugh at church
I gave Steve his Father's Day gift (Captain America cuff-links from the boys) and his card, and then we watched Apollo 13 (I had never seen it). It's Steve's favorite movie.
The boys played after dinner and that was our weekend!!
