Day 288

October 15th, 2010

October 15th, 2011

I must say that I feel today was a very productive day! I saw something on weelicious.com about organizing your pantry, I watched the video and was super excited. I went on Amazon and picked a bunch of OXO organizers and put them on a wish list. I told Steve about it and he said once we're in a house, maybe after the new year I can start buying them a few at a time. They're awesome.

Anyway, I was inspired to try and organize the freezer (it was a HOT mess) and the pantry. I was able to tackle both while Gus was napping this morning and I'm quite pleased with the results.

Elmo has been visiting us quite often lately. Maybe two or three times a day... here's a quick picture (taken by Steve) of one of Elmo's visits today.

I wasn't able to get my phone to sync with the new operating system from Apple, so Steve did it for me today. Unfortunately, I was without a phone for the entire day. I did watch a lot of television, watched MSU beat U of M (Go Green) and watched Parenthood from this week. I seriously love that show!!

We were supposed to have dinner with A&W but it fell through. So instead, we decided to put Gus down for an afternoon nap (around 3:30) and then when he got up we headed to Outback for Steve's Unemployment Celebration Dinner.  :)

We had a GREAT dinner and even got free dessert (they screwed up Steve's filet). We shared the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under and it was devine!!

Here are other pictures from dinner:

We got home and Steve worked on some stuff for World 50. He starts on Monday and said it's going to feel so weird Monday morning to not wake up and head to Burt's. :(

I'm still very disappointed with our current realtor. He's not doing much for us and it's frustrating. He sent more houses today that are just hideous. I think Steve's going to call the guy that Eryn recommended and we'll see if we get anything good with him. If he doesn't work out, our last option is to contact the lady that our realtor here (Stan) recommended for us in Atlanta.

Here are some pictures from a year ago:

See you tomorrow. BTW-- the Tigers are totally blowing the series... makes me so sad.

Day 287

October 14th, 2010

October 14th, 2011

We had a great day today. Steve had a rough day, as this was his last day at Burt's Bees. He said there were lots of tears and it was extremely difficult to say goodbye to the people that he's grown to love.  :(

Gus and I got up and played for a bit this morning and then Kristen and Grace came over for an impromptu playdate. Gus answered the door as Elmo and it made Kristen and Grace laugh. I told Kristen that I wanted to put Grace in the costume and take some pictures of her. They turned out okay... a lot were too blurry to use.  :(  Here are some of my favorites from our playdate:

He looks so dreamy

After Kristen and Grace left, Gus and I headed to Harris Teeter to get some odds and ends that I couldn't get at Wal-Mart. While I was shopping, I had a moment of realization that my life is about to be turned upside-down and we're on the edge of a time when things are going to get really stressful and hectic. The mere fact that we don't know when we'll be moving, but that we WILL be moving is enough to get me to flip out a bit.

I hate not knowing anything and I guess until Gus and I go on November 4th, we can't do much about it. We FINALLY got some houses to look at from our new realtor, but they were crappy. I'm finding better stuff on realtor.com than either of these two realtors have been doing. I'm praying that this next week, our new guy gets his stuff together and starts sending me stuff that I like and can work with. Otherwise, what's the use in having a realtor???

After we got back from Harris Teeter, we had lunch and then it was time for Gus's nap. He slept for over three hours today!!! When he got up, we went downstairs and it wasn't long before Steve got home.

I took some pictures of Gus while we were waiting for Steve to get home... they're some of the cutest yet!

Bubbles!!

I absolutely adore this picture!

Boy do I know this look!!

So precious!!!

We were supposed to go to Outback to celebrate Steve's last day and the beginning of a new chapter for us, but he wasn't feeling up to it. He was sad and just wanted to stay local. So we went to FV and had Mexican and Dairy Queen. It was probably the last time we'll do our Friday Ritual here in NC. It's kinda sad.

Tomorrow I've got a nail appointment and then we're possibly meeting up with Will and Adri for lunch/dinner. She's not feeling well, so it might not happen. Steve and I are going to Outback either way... I hope A&W can join us, but if not, I am determined to enjoy a filet and the fine company of my husband and son.  :)

I'm leaving you with some pictures from a year ago at the baby shower that my 4th graders and their parents threw for us. It meant so much and we got a TON of board books for Gus!!
