An Update

It's been a while since I last posted, so I thought I'd give an update on what we've been doing around here.

I'll begin by saying that it's been very COLD! Unseasonably cold and to the point that it's been hard to get warm. Thankfully, we installed new windows this fall and they've been helping keep the warm in and the cold out (but only in the parts of the house that we got the windows-- phase two is this spring).

Hugh got sick earlier this week and had thrown up in his sleep. He's better now, but it was my first experience with vomit. BLECH!

With it being so cold, we've been trying to do some different activities each day to keep us entertained. Hugh's been napping at noon and then sleeping all afternoon. It's been nice to have a few hours with just Hugh while Gus is at school, then a few hours with just Gus once he's home, and then we're all together until bedtime.

Hugh enjoys banging on pots and bowls

Hugh turned 13 months on the 18th and he's doing so well. He's not choking on his food as much, has been more daring when it comes to trying new things (he loves shredded cheese, diced pears, and mashed potatoes). He's officially climbing things and can say, "Mama" "Dada" "Baba (Bottle)" "Pap" and "WaWa (Water)." He's very vocal and hopefully won't have speech delays like Gus has.

Totally climbed up on the table
 Giving me "the look"

Seriously... how could anyone resist that face?

A few weekends ago we went to Aubree's 4th birthday party. She had it at the JC fire station and the boys had a great time. It's crazy to think that she's four already and Gus will be turning four this year. Where the heck has the time gone?!?!

Hugh attended his first birthday party of a friend! His buddy Luke from playgroup turned one on Wednesday, so we went to his house for a fun birthday party. It was a super cute theme (Monsters) and Hugh had fun!

We met up with Gus's class on Saturday to have some fun outside of school. We went to McDonald's and Gus had a blast. It was fun to watch him with his friends and fun to see Hugh trying to play with the big kids.

Saturday night, I went to Medieval Times with some of my friends. It was so much fun!! We got a great deal from Groupon and so all we had to do was pick a night and time and show up. We got there early and as a result we were given the most amazing seats. I hope to go back again because it was so much fun and so entertaining!

Waiting in line with Jo, Aline, Kylie, and Brittany

Our knight was the yellow night (randomly assigned) but the blue knight was very handsome (he also knew it). Thankfully, the yellow knight won the whole thing so it was awesome to cheer for the absolute winner!
Group picture with the winner!

That's about it from here. Gus will go to school tomorrow and celebrate the 100th day of school. I don't think his teacher is doing anything special for it, but we may do a little activity when he gets home. I think he's really learning a lot and he really enjoys school. He's got some really great friends and I'm thankful that he's in good hands.
