12-19-14 Hugh Turns Two!

This year, instead of having Hugh's party at an outside location, we opted to have it at home (thinking it'd be more cost-effective). I think the work put into an at-home party is a lot and now that we've done two for Hugh, we won't be doing anymore here at the house until the boys are older and can just have friends come over and spend the night.

That being said, we did have a great party and were blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful friends. I chose a construction theme for the party since Hugh is obsessed with anything with four-wheels. He's particularly interested in construction vehicles, so having a construction theme just seemed to make the most sense.

This is the hand-made invitation that I made for his party

The set up for the party:

I made all the signs myself!

We still have the birth-12 month pictures on the one side of the entry, and now we have 13-24 months on the opposite side :-)

The kids seemed to have a great time and Hugh was happy to have friends here to celebrate his birthday. We let Gus stay home from school so he could celebrate Hugh's birthday with him (we had his party on Wednesday the 17th).
He got his special birthday shirt that matches Gus's shirt for the year :-)

I got this photo prop of a construction site and it was so cute. The kids loved it and it made for some really cute pictures!

I think Hugh's favorite part of the whole day was the cupcake cake. He was not shy about tearing into his cupcake and he made a MESS!!!

Overall, it was a smashing success and we had a great time. Next year, we are looking forward to going to Build A Bear for Hugh's 3rd birthday. :-)

We've got a few months to relax and then we'll begin planning Gus's fifth birthday. How in the world my baby will be turning five is beyond me. It just doesn't seem like it's possible for him to be turning five.

What a super cute birthday party! I hope he enjoyed our singing birthday wish! I can't believe how big he is already.
